Folk Singers

Cal and I have been submitting songs to TAXI to generate a little revenue to support this music habit we have:) It has been very enlightening. Here are some of the critiques we have received from their submission staff.

FOR YOU MY LOVE

"Stripped down strums and good harmonies bring the basic form of this track into a more folk form the produces good emotion amid the simple arrangement and story line."

FREE

"A very good musical hook is brought into this track that offers good contrast and distinction for the song. The vocals again wrap comfortably around the simple arrangement. The song is in the folk tradition."

GONE TOO LONG

"The rhythm percolated this track into being. The vocals match the tempo nicely. The folk style is a good vehicle for the voice and story line."

OVERALL COMMENTS: "Your songs have a simple backing arrangement that works extremely well for the dual vocals and story lines on these songs Cal. The tracks bring in the needed emotion and hooks to make sure that the results far expand the stripped down use of instrumentation. The songs stay true to the folk traditions set up in the arrangements and deliveries."

Moral of the story; The Linfords have officially been catagorized as folk singers, which is awesome if you made your submissions in the folk listings, not so great when you've submitted your songs in the Country, Alt. Country or Americana genre.

It's good to know who you are :)
