You Are My Sunshine

Our Great Aunt Eva is turning 103 this Friday and this song is in honor of her.  My Great Uncle Ern would play this guitar around the campfire and at his gigs when my Mom was a little girl and it inspired all the music The Linfords enjoy now.  Happy birthday Eva, we are grateful for your long and storied life.

George Strait Cover ~ I Can Still Make Cheyenne

You asked for it, and Cal delivered.  Covering King George "I Can Still Make Cheyenne".  That's Uncle Ern's old Gibson.  Sounds pretty sweet after all these years.

Bear Lake County Fair and the Alpine Fly In

Summer is winding down already, and the blog has been pretty neglected.  Turns out my hands have busy with babies and guitars.  I wouldn't want it any other way.  We loved the crowd at the Bear Lake County Fair.  I'll tell ya, there are some serious music lovers out there.  We hope to make it over the hill again.  Thanks Glen!  Tonight we're sticking a little closer to home and will be entertaining at the Alpine Fly In, it's gonna be a cold one so cuddle up everyone!

Playing a Piece of History

Sunday night my Mom brought her Uncle Ern's Gibson guitar over for us to play.  We had heard about this guitar for years and never seen it so it felt like Christmas morning to play it.  The sound was seriously amazing.  We were literally playing a piece of history.  We played "You Are My Sunshine" for my Mum because it's one of the songs she remembers Uncle Ern playing on this very guitar.
