Coming Up . . . .

Summer has just about gotten away from us and we've had a ball singing around Wyoming.  There are still some great shows coming up, most of them private, but one that we hope EVERYONE will make it to.  Joe Nichols will be playing the Lincoln County Fair in Afton, Wyoming, August 4th and we are fortunate enough to be opening for him.  He puts on a great show and we can't wait to see him in person at our beautiful fair. Tickets can be purchased online at http://lincolncountyfair.info/ or at the venue that night.  If you are planning on attending more than one event at the Fair you can get a great deal on a P.O.P (pay one price) ticket.  $60 gets you into ALL the events, including the Joe Nichols concert.  Can't wait to see you all in our neck of the woods.

Lady Luck Summer Concert

Teddy will be joining Lady Luck on the stage in Layton Utah for their free Summer Concert Series in the Park.  We have a lot of Utah friends and family and would love to see everyone out in force to support the great music of the 40's and beyond.  What better way to spend a Sunday with your family.

After all that fun the girls are headed to Wyoming, and will be performing a BRAND NEW SHOW at the Lincoln County Fair in Star Valley.  Don't miss the Women of  Lady Luck as they sing and stroll in their French Country meets County Fair show "Tres' Belles'.  We're studying up on the OLD, OLD classics; My Heart Belongs to Daddy, Strolling Through the Park, High Hopes  along with some Sweet Adeline style (think Lady Barbershop) arrangements of Another Day In The Sun (from the hit La La Land) Delta Dawn, Cowboy Sweetheart and many others.  We know you'll recognize these classics from the past and you can even include us in your County Fair Selfies.  This is Tres' Belles Debut and it's going to be a memorable one.

Our own Melodie Taylor-Mauldin will also be lending her talents to the traveling Medicine Show, "Doctor Quackenbush" at the fair, so if you're in the mood for a fix for what ails you, visit the Medicine Wagon on the Lincoln County Fairgrounds for show times and a little medical "advice".  You won't regret it.

Lincoln County Fair ~

Our Hometown fair was a huge success!  We had such a great time and people came out despite the rain and enjoyed acrobats, rope twirlers, clowns, dancers, and escape artists.  So happy to be a part of it all.

Lincoln County Fair Schedule

It's about time for the Lincoln County Fair.  We love our hometown fair and love the direction the Fair is going in the recent years.  Along with some other great local talent, The Linford Band is going to be entertaining under the Big Top Thursday-Saturday.  Click the link for all the details about the fair. . . . . www.lincolncountyfair.info

We'll also be bringing along a couple of new additions to the fair this year.  The new CD "Still" is finished and will be hot off the press and ready to go, and the fruits of my labor will also be making an appearance.  Wish us luck and we'll see you there :-)

RMAF Casper Wyoming

This year, for the first time since I was 16 years old, I went to the Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs Convention as a guest instead of an entertainer.  It was enlightening to be on the other side of the great divide between performers and fair buyers.  I loved being able to visit friends and enjoy being "hosted" by them and see all their talents.  I hated that I couldn't hire all of them myself and bring them to our beautiful valley this year for my personal entertainment :-)  If wishes were fishes.  Anyway, we had a gorgeous drive, both ways despite the wind and weather that literally blew us home.  I have to say I felt so loved and welcomed and supported this year and it was so appreciated.  We love our RMAF family.
These photos are from Star Valley to Casper, mostly up Togwotee and on to Dubois.

We found a herd of Big Horn Sheep in Dubois and I was wishing for a long lens camera.

This ornery looking fellow didn't move when we stopped on the side of the road to get a good shot, again, lesson to me, bring the good camera next time.

This year there were some awesome new unusual entertainers.  Intricate balloon art anyone?

We love these dear friends.  Once a year is not enough.

On the way home we ran across a Christmas tree in the wilderness, which is a perfect reminder of what Cal and Me are working on right now.  A new Christmas album and the Christmas with the Linfords concert November 30th.

If You Give a Kid a Camera

That kid will take pictures of the band.  Good thing he did, it's our only proof that we were there :-)  We had a great time at the fair, our next show is a wedding, so if you're invited, we are too and will see you there.  Then the Utah State Fair is coming up for Me and Cal, September 9th.

Cal ~ Lead Guitar and Vocals

 Stephanie ~ Bass and Vocals

Dave ~ Drums

Teddy ~ Rhythm Guitar and Vocals

Street Dance Thursday

Now that I've had my share of great musicians, friends and even a Knight in Shining Armor or two it's time to get back to playing.  Thursday night the Lincoln County Fair is hosting a street dance in the Civic Center Parking lot.  Admission is free, it's open to all public and we'll be raffling off some great prizes.  The Linford Band is playing along with Charlie Jenkins, yet another musician from the reality show THE VOICE.  Don't miss it!  (And don't forget the free entertainment under the Big Top all week!)

Concert Night!

What a fun Fair we're having so far and it's only Monday!  Tonight was the concert in the arena and a great band from Utah, LOKALGROWN, opened for Gwen Sebastian.  It's such a small world and three of the band members are friends of mine.  I was so excited to see my beautiful friend Dawn perform.  We go way back (Sun Valley Carolers, early 2000's, many hours spent in the sauna on the slopes and singing . . . . . love her guts!)  Windstorm/Rain/Dustbowl weather be danged, the show must go on, and it did!

After Lokalgrown, my boy was stoked to have won a raffle item and we'll be going out for pizza as a family thanks to his big win;-)

The concert was awesome.  Gwen's Band was fantastic and were such nice people.  I loved this photo of my boy and Gwen the most.  She took time to meet every single person and autograph their items and take pictures.  What a fun end to a long day at the Lincoln County Fair.

Fair Time

Grand Champion Walk Trot Teton County Fair
Well, Fair Season is upon us and leave it to the kids to pave the way for all the good times to come.  As for the parents, we have one more week before our performances at the Lincoln County Fair.  Next Monday we'll be under the big top for two shows and Thursday night we'll be playing with Charlie Jenkins for the street dance.  We love Fair time around here.

Oat's face is killing me in this photo.  I guess we all know how he feels at the end of a horse show!

Music, Meat and Mayhem

One of the best things about the Fair for us is the musicians that come into our little town.  Lucky for us this year we had The Bad Larrys and John Dunnigan.

Seriously, does it get better.  Steaks bigger than your head, and a week of listening to true talent.

So, I may or may not have bawled like a baby during part of the show, but if I WERE in tears, I would not be the only one ;-)

Savannah Jack

Savannah Jack was the big concert at the fair this year and they were FANTASTIC!  We have heard so many great things about the show and about how much they loved this band.  We were lucky to be the opening band and even luckier to be invited back on stage to play a little with them.  They are absolute professionals and Star Valley loved them so much that the Fairboard is getting many requests for their return.  Let's hope we'll have a second chance to see Savannah Jack in our pretty little town again.

It was pretty trippy to see the lighted billboard in Afton.  Our bass players daughters are convinced their mother is a rock star because her picture is up there in lights :-)  It IS pretty cool.   I think it's a great idea to advertise all our local music and get the word out there about all the talent in Star Valley.
This is after the show with Savannah Jack.  We had such a great time, I wish we could do it again. :-)

Lincoln County Fair

The Linford Band is opening for Savannah Jack Monday July 30th at the Lincoln County Fair.  It's going to be a great day for music under the big top during the day and the night concert starting at 7:00pm is a perfect way to start out the fair week.

We're excited to play for the hometown crowd and hope to see everyone out in force to support great music in Star Valley.

RMAF Quarter Horse with John and Friends

Oh the power in knowing how to post videos!  Here is one from this fall.  John Dunnigan was kind enough to let us put his Quarter Horse song on our album "We Could Ride".  We get requests for it from those in the know :-)  John will be coming to The Lincoln County Fair this year too.  YES!  So excited.  It's going to be Music Monday at the fair, there is such a great lineup with The Bad Larrys and John Dunnigan.
